Without objection, CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 42(FIN) was adopted and read the second time. Senator Ellis offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, line 1: Delete "an amendment" Insert "amendments" Page 1, line 2, following "marriage": Insert "and standards of conduct" Page 1, lines 4 - 5: Delete "a new section" Insert "new sections" Page 1, following line 11: Insert: "Section 26. Gods. This State recognizes that the Lord is God. A person shall not have strange gods before the Lord. Section 27. Language. A person shall not take the name of the Lord our God in vain. Section 28. Observance of the Sabbath. A person shall remember to keep holy the Sabbath Day. Section 29. Parents. A person shall honor the person's mother and father. Section 30. Killing. A person shall not kill. Section 31. Adultery. A person shall not commit adultery. Section 32. Stealing. A person shall not steal. Section 33. False Witness. A person shall not bear false witness against a neighbor. Section 34. Coveting Spouses. A person shall not covet a neighbor's wife or husband. Section 35. Coveting Goods. Senator Taylor objected. The question being: Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted? Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the resolution be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Senator Ellis objected.
